Individual

Psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy sessions are held at regular intervals, ranging from once every fortnight to twice-weekly. Weekly sessions would be typical.

We work together to develop insight into recurring patterns and defence mechanisms, and these insights  - through bring what is unconscious into the conscious - can help to change these patterns.

In the individual sessions, the therapeutic relationship will show how the patient interacts with others. The transference, that is, the way that the patient "transfers" feelings for a parent, for example, onto the therapist.
